2016 ARLINGTON SX | GOPRO ONBOARD

One of our favorite parts of the race season is onboard coverage compiled by the staff at GoPro. As a major sponsor to Monster Energy Supercross Series, the company is able to stick their famed line for Hero4 cameras practically anywhere they want. Lucky for us, they snapped cameras onto Davi Millsaps, Cole Seely, and Mitchell Oldenburg for the 2016 Arlington SX, the seventh round of the series. See every angle of the track that was laid out on the floor of AT&T Stadium, just like the racers.
Mitchell Oldenburg made solid charge from the opening lap to the checkered flag. The Troy Lee Designs/GoPro/Red Bull/KTM rider was mid-pack at the start of the feature, then carved by a number of very talented and respected riders to finish in fifth, his fifth straight top-five finish of the year.
Cole Seely was out front from the moment the gate dropped. The Team Honda HRC rider avoided some carnage and was as high as third, then fell victim to a last-lap pass by Jason Anderson and ultimately finished fourth. Have a look to the left of the screen when Seely is on the starting gate and you’ll get a look at the light-up GET system on the front fender of Weston Peick’s Yamaha.
Davi Millsaps almost fell for the long hold on the gate drop, because you can see his BTO Sports KTM lurch just a little before it actually falls. That could have been the cause of his mid-pack start, yet he quickly worked up the running order with passes on the technical track. An error in the whoops sent him skipping off path, but Millsaps regrouped and finished the race in seventh.
